Our Female Athlete of the year has been a major component of the most successful program in Emerson history. Softball Senior pitcher Kelsey Tuthill has not only held Coach McElroy’s program to its elite standards in her four years here, but also raised it with her tireless efforts both on the field and off.

A member of the 2009 GNAC Championship Team, Kelsey brought success to the Lions in all four years of her career. Included in her innumerable accolades are: 2009 and 2011 GNAC All-Conference and Pitcher of the Year, 2009 and 2011 All-ECAC, 2009 NCAA All-Tournament Team, 2009 and 2011 NEISCA All-Star as well as 2009 and 2011 NFCA All-Region.

While her 2012 season is still ongoing, Kelsey also helped to co-captain the Softball Team this year to a #1 seed in the GNAC Tournament, with a 20-2 conference record, including a 15-2 overall record in the circle while batting .447 on the year with a team-leading 43 RBIs.

Over the span of her career she has amassed 55 career wins at Emerson, while striking out 596 batters en route. She leaves Emerson with a legacy of success as well with her name dotting the NCAA top-50 lists in eight categories throughout her four years with the final stamp to be added in the following weeks as the Lions vie for their third GNAC Championship and NCAA appearance to place the finishing touches on an already remarkable career.

In addition, she will continue her education this fall as she was accepted to UCONN’s Audiology Masters Program over the winter.
