Baseball To Open Season in Auburndale, Fla Over Spring Break

Monday, March 5, vs New Jersey City University (DH)., Auburndale, Fla., 4:00pm, 7:00pm.

BOSTON - The Emerson Lions Men's Lacrosse team will open their season on March 4, 2018 in AUburndale, Florida over spring break. The team will take part in nine games over five days before returning to Boston to open their home schedule against Rivier on March 17th, 2018. Their first game in Florida will be against Penn. State Abington, followed by a doubleheader against New Jersey City on March 5th.  

LET'S TAKE IT BACK TO 2017

  • The Lions opened their 2017 season in AUburndale, Fla as well, going 7-2 over the course of nine games.

  • The Lions struggled in NEWMAC play, going 1-16 over their 17 conference contests.

NEW FACES

SCOUTING THE NITTANY LIONS

  • The Nittany Lions started their season on February 16th, falling to Frostburg State in both games of a doubleheader in Fayetteville, NE, 6-1 and 23-9.  

  • In 2017, the Nittany Lions went 16-23 overall, but 11-3 in North Eastern Athletic Conference contests.  

  • Penn State Abington fell in the conference tournament to Penn St. Berks and The Pennsylvania COllege of Technology, 9-8 and 10-9 respectively.  

  • The Nittany Lions were selected to finish third in the NEAC preseason poll for 2018.

SCOUTING THE GOTHIC KNIGHTS

  • The New Jersey City University Gothic Knights went .500 in 2017, going 18-18 overall and a 6-12 conference record.

  • The Gothic Knights qualified for postseason play, but due to weather and lack of qualifying teams, the East Coast Athletic Conference tournament was cancelled.

  • The Gothic Knights did not fare well in neutral site games in 2017, going 1-5.  They enjoyed an 8-5 home record and a 9-8 away record.
