Emerson Athletics is pleased to announce that Matthew Colombini will be the new Head Coach for Emerson Men’s Lacrosse. Coach Colombini comes to Emerson after serving as the assistant coach at Colby College in Waterville, ME. Prior to Colby, he was the assistant and subsequent interim head coach at Wheaton College.
Colombini attended Ursinus College in Pennsylvania where he studied history with a minor in coaching and secondary Education. While at Ursinus Colombini played Goalie for their varsity lacrosse team and was named to the 2011 All-Centennial Conference Sportsmanship Team.
He is well versed in the NEWMAC Conference and will bring excellent expertise, insight and enthusiasm to the program. We are extremely fortunate to have someone of his character and caliber to lead the lacrosse program to an elite level in the highly competitive NEWMAC Conference.
Alex Krawec joins the Lions after an impressive career at LeMoyne, class of 2016, and Onondaga Community College. While at OCC, he was part of the National Champoinship team in 2012. Krawec then transferred to LeMoyne where his accolades only grew. He lead the Dolphins to a 20-0 record his senior year and the programs 5th National Championship. This would mark Krawec's 3rd National Championship, as he also was with the the Dolphins when they won it in 2013. He was named the Division II USILA Goalie of the Year twice, made first team All-American twice, Northeast 10 Goalkeeper of the year twice, and was the 2015 LeMoyne Male Athlete of the Year and team MVP. In his final two years at LeMoyne he was the starting goalie and posted a record of 36-3 and registered a 5.77 goals against average, 404 saves, a .672 save percentage and 10.35 saves per game. On the program's career charts, he ranks second in save percentage (.668), third in victories (36), fourth in goals against average (5.84) and saves (412) and sixth in saves per game (8.96).
Krawec was recently drafted to play professional Lacrosse for the Denver Outlaws and will serve as the Goalie Coach and Defensive Coordinator for the Lions.

Dave Kraus comes to Emerson after playing for the Ursinus College Bears, class of 2012, where he was a 2 year captain and played with Coach Colombini. While at Ursinus, Kraus scored 51 goals and had 19 assists. He did this in three years as he was sidelined due to injury during his junior year. As a captain, he helped lead the Bears to their first playoff appearance in school history. After a storied offensive career at Ursins, Kraus will be serving as the Lions Offensive Coordinator and will run the box on game days. Before joining the Lions, Kraus served as an assistant Coach at Oregon State.
Matt Ulrich is a recent Emerson Graduate (2013) and Men's Lacrosse Alumni.
He graduated with a degree in Post Production and a Minor in Business. He was a 2 year Captain for the Emerson Lacrosse team playing Defense and Long Stick Middie.
Before joining the Athletics team he was working at Emerson's IT Help Desk where he was the Technology Support Specialist. While with IT he was responsible for maintaing Staff and Faculty computers, as well as Student Laptops and Dorm Technology Issues.
Some of his recent accolades since becoming the Director of Media Relations include adding Wifi at Rotch Field as well as setting up the HD Live Video Stream for home games played at Rotch.
