DORCHESTER, Mass. - Men's Tennis had an impressive showing as they swept Wheelock 9-0. The Wildcats move to 0-9 while the Lions improve to 3-2.
Emerson made quick work of Wheelock in doubles action, conceding just three games total to take a 3-0 edge into singles play. Junior Amos Jackson (El Paso, Texas) and senior Michelle Woods (Wilminton, Mass.) came closest at the second doubles position, losing 8-2 to senior Samir Beria (Sterling, Va.) and junior Antonio Ramirez.
In singles action, sophomore Arvin Hedayaty (Tarzana, Calif.) put up the best fight at the top singles spot, taking four games in a 6-4 first set defeat. Still, Ramirez took the second set 6-1 to win in straight sets. Emerson also won the five other singles matches in consecutive sets to earn a 9-0 sweep.
Wheelock closes their season on Tuesday afternoon at 4:00 p.m. when they travel to New England Collegiate Conference foe Becker. Emerson hosts Clark on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference action.
