Emerson Cross Country Finds Success at Bruce Kirsh XC Cup

Men's and Women's Cross Country opened their 2016 Season with the 4th Annual Bruce Kirsh Cross Country Cup.

The men were lead by freshman Reece Ragusa and Austin Brown who placed 65th and 72nd respectively. Matthew Benson, Mike O'Connor, and Cameron Sleeper rounded out the top five, with Eric Johnson and Anthony Lisacki filling the final two varsity spots.

The men's performance was enough for them to edge out NEWMAC rival Clark University. The Lions finished 10th overall while Clark finished 11th.

Women's XC was lead by two newcomers as well, Natalie Vilotijevic and Jeannette Mooney finished first for the Lions, coming in 42 and 44th overall. Nina DeSilva had a very strong race, finishing third for the Lions. Natalie Kenney and Chelsea Swift filled the fourth and fifth spots.

The Lions return to action this Saturday when they travel to Gordon for the Pop Crowell Invitational.
