Freshman Madison Lynch Sets Career-Best Finish at Saints Invitational

BOSTON - Lions freshman Madison Lynch came through with her career-best finish on Friday afternoon, running the Franklin Park Cross Country course (5k) in 20:38, finishing 18th in a field of 210 racers on Friday afternoon at the Emmanuel Saints Invitational.

Although the time was not a new personal 5k record, the 18th place finish betters her 20th place result at Gordon College earlier this year. Furthermore, the Saints Invitational is run on the same course as the NEWMAC Cross Country Championships held and hosted by Emerson College.

Lynch led the Lions to an 11th place result, finishing just seven points out of their first top-10 of the season.

On the men's side, freshman Joseph MacNeil led the Lions runners, finishing the 8k course at Franklin Park in a time of 29:34, good for 63rd place. Kevin Serrano and junior Ethan Michaud were not far behind, finishing in 78th and 89th, respectively.

The men's team totaled 356 points for a 13th place result.

It's now two weeks off for both the men and the women as they prepare for the NEWMAC Championships at Franklin Park on Sunday, October 29th.
