Information On This Weekend's Softball GNAC Playoff Tournament

Schedule:                   

Championship (Double Elimination):  Friday, April 27th – Sunday, April 29

A minimum of 25 minutes will be allowed between games each day.

 

Friday, April 27th – Quarterfinals Hosted by #1 Emerson and #2 St. Joseph's of Maine

 
 

Saturday, April 28th – Semifinals Hosted by #1 Emerson at Gordon College

 
 

Sunday, April 29th  – Championship Hosted by #1 Emerson at Gordon College

 
 

Umpires:                     Eastern College Athletic Conference assigned. Three-umpire system.

Protocol:                                                                    

 

            determined by the  NCAA Rules* which states that:

            warm-up first.

 

Athletic Training:       A certified athletic trainer will be present for all games.  Each team    should bring its own supplies.

                                    Modalities will not be available.

 
 

Sports Information:   Full sports information services will be provided. In-game Stat Crew will be used with packed files e-mailed to institutions after the completion of each game. The sports information office of each participating team is asked to send an e-mail contact list for sending results.

 

Awards:                      There will be an All-tournament team selected and a Most Valuable player named at the conclusion of the final game.  Eleven individuals will be selected.  Each team's coach will choose the players from his/her team that he/she wants selected. The number of selections is calculated by final tournament standings.

Warm-up Area:         The designated warm-up area will be along the back of the Bennett Center on Friday and the Gordon College baseball field on Saturday and Sunday.

 

Seating:                       There are no bleachers.  Spectators are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

 

Parking:                      Limited parking is available next to the Bennett Athletic and Recreation Center.  Further parking is available directly across the street from the Bennett Center and at the Brigham Athletic Complex lot off Hull Road (first left off Grapevine Road).  Participating teams may want to drop equipment at the field (directly adjacent to Hull Road) and proceed to parking.
