Offensive Struggles Trouble Women's Basketball In Loss To St. Joe's of Maine

BOSTON, Mass. – A sluggish offense coupled with the high-octane game from the Monks of St. Joe's of Maine didn't bode well for the Emerson Women's Basketball Team Tuesday night as they fell in a tough 82-46 loss. On the night Kristin Brice led the Lions with her 15 points and going 7-8 from the free throw line in the effort. The Lions drop to 7-14 overall and 4-5 in the conference while the Monks stay a perfect 8-0 in GNAC play and 14-6 overall.

The Monks came out storming in the first half, spreading the floor on offense and equally vicious on defense as the bench came out to throw down for St. Joe's as Sarah Assante and Nicolette Kapothanas both put up seven for the Monks while Abby Young did work with 12. Kristin Brice powered in for six for the Lions to while Olivia Connors and Olivia DiNucci both put up four as EC rolled into the half down 46-21.

The second half saw more woes for the Emerson offense though as they kept pushing, but couldn't make their shots fall as they went 0-14 on the night from behind the three point line. The Monks on the other hand capitalized on the opportunities as they hit 58% from three point land and 46% overall on the half as they swept away with the W.

The Lions will hit the hardwood again this Saturday as they head to GNAC foe Mt. Ida for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off.
