BOSTON - As announced by the NEWMAC, junior Charlie Boyle (Scotts Valley, Calif.) has earned a spot on the Women's Basketball Team All-Conference. The junior forward was named one of the best ten players in the conference for the 2017-2018 season, voted on by the opposing coaches in the conference.
Boyle was a force down low for the Lions during the year. Boyle took part in 19 games for the Lions this year, starting in 16. She averaged 8.9 points per game, 4.6 rebounds per game, and 0.6 assists per game. Boyle shot 49.3% from the field and 73.1% from the free throw line. Boyle averaged 1.4 blocks per game for the Lions. She scored a season high 14 points twice, against Babson and WPI in NEWMAC play. Boyle was a leader for the Lions off the court as well, as she was named to the NEWMAC All-Academic Team for the 2017-2018 season.
Sophomore Natalie Clydesdale (Pittsburgh, Penn.) was named to the NEWMAC All-Sportsmanship team for the 2017-2018 season. The team is made up of one player from each NEWMAC conference team that exemplifies the NEWMAC code of conduct.
