Women's Lacrosse Offensive Attack Drops Salem State 19-3

BOSTON, Mass. – The Emerson Women's Lacrosse Team was an offensive juggernaut Saturday afternoon as they topped the visiting Salem State Vikings 19-3. With the win the Lions advance to 4-1 on the year while Salem State moves to 1-3.

The Lions wasted no time hitting the gas in the first half as they scored four goals in the first three minutes alone. EC kept on their tear in the half with nine unanswered goals, with Tayllar Righini netting four alone. The Vikings scratched back with a goal to make it 9-1.

The Lions weren't finished in the half though with three more goals awaiting them from Victoria Symanski, Meredith Weber and Tayllar Righini again as EC peppered the Vikings with 23 shots in the half. Salem State added another goal at the end of the half as the Lions went into the break up 12-2.

The second half saw Meredith Weber go on a tear for EC as she scored four unanswered goals to bolster Emerson's lead to 16-2. Emerson was again lethal on the attach outshooting the Vikings 15-to-5 as the rolled off with the 19-3 final.

The Lions return to action as they hit the road to Gordon to face the Fighting Scots on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in Wenham, Mass.
