BOSTON, Mass. – Five goals by Meredith Weber led the way for the Lions Thursday as the Emerson Women's Lacrosse Team topped New England College 18-7. With the win the Lions are now 5-3 on the year as NEC falls to 0-7.
The first half saw the Pilgrims come out hot scoring the first two goals before Guerin Morissette broke through with a dime from Alex Corrado before NEC rallied back for two. The rest of the night belonged to EC as they outshot the Pilgrims 15-to-9. Meredith Weber went back-to-back to open the half before NEC scrapped a goal. EC added three more as Guerin Morissette found the hot spot with back-to-back goals.
The Pilgrims only had a few goals left to slip past the EC defense as the Lions went on a tear to take the game over with Kanika Misra dropping two goals as well as goals from Tayllar Righini, Maggie Sheetz and another from Guerin Morissette capped the night as the Lions dominated the Pilgrims 18-7.
