Women's Volleyball Places Four On GNAC All-Conference Team

BOSTON, Mass. - Emerson College's 2012 GNAC Women's Volleyball Championship Team has seen four members named to the 2012 GNAC All-Conference Team as announced by the GNAC Tuesday.

Included in the awards were Kat Rice, the 2011 GNAC Rookie of the Year and GNAC Second Team member, who was named to the 2012 GNAC First Team after a season in which she dominated the conference as one of the most lethal middle blockers in New England.

Freshman setter Juliana Tucker was also honored, being named to the GNAC Second Team while also taking home 2012 GNAC Rookie of the Year honors. The rookie came in to lead the Lions from the moment she stepped on the floor, quarterbacking Emerson to its second GNAC title and NCAA berth.

Rounding out the All-Conference Team honors were Jamie Morgan and Alyssa Thorne, who collected Third Team honors. The honors are the first of the juniors' careers  who combined as anchors for Emerson's defensive and offensive efforts.

In addition, Kat Rice and Jamie Morgan were named to the GNAC All-Tournament Team, and Juliana Tucker was named GNAC Tournament MVP. Alex Lynn was also honored as a member of the 2012 GNAC Sportsmanship Team.
