BOSTON - The Emerson men's soccer team closes outs its 2017 regular season campaign with a pair of home matchups and look to lock up a win against Regis (Mass.) and MIT. Emerson opens the week with a non-conference matchup under the lights on Monday to host Regis (Mass.) at 6:00 p.m. The Lions look to end the season on a high note on Saturday and welcome NEWMAC foe MIT at 1:00 p.m.



  • Emerson enters the final stretch of games with an overall record of 4-9-2 and a conference record of 0-6.

  • Finishing last week with a record of 0-1-1, the Lions locked up a 1-1 double overtime tie with Framingham State on Tuesday night and saw a net from the foot of sophomore Gavin Faucette (Oakland, Calif.) in the 78th minute of play.

  • On Saturday afternoon, the Lions shouldered a 6-1 setback at the hands of Wheaton (Mass.).


  • Faucette currently sits in the top five of two NEWMAC categories including goals and shots.

  • The sophomore comes in tied for third with eight goals and second in shots with 61.

  • Senior keeper Lucas Fischer (Atlanta, Ga.) ranks fourth among NEWMAC goalies having turned away 63 shots.


  • Regis (Mass.) currently holds a record of 8-7-1 and are 5-4-1 against GNAC opponents.

  • The Pride is coming off of a 1-1 tie against a conference opponent, Emmanuel (Mass.), last Saturday.

  • Emerson and Regis (Mass.) last squared off against each other back on September 28, 2016, with the Lions taking the 3-0 loss.

  • Derek Triana paces the Pride offense with 13 tallies and one assist for 27 points, followed by Litchie Barbosa, who leads the team with 12 assists.

  • In the net for all 16 games is Jesse Bonilla, having started for a total of 1441+ minutes with 30 goals allowed and has turned away 114 shots.


  • With an overall record of 5-6-4, the MIT Engineers have gone 2-3-1 when facing NEWMAC opponents and take on Worcester Starts on Wednesday.

  • In MIT's most recent game against Coast Guard on Saturday, the Engineers came away with the 0-0 double overtime draw.

  • MIT topped Emerson, 1-0, in an overtime win at Rotch Field in the last meeting back on September 17, 2016.

  • Loukas Carayannopoulos paces the MIT offense with seven tallies and a pair of assists for 16 points.

  • Jeremy Cowham has manned the net for the Engineers for 1429 minutes and has allowed 14 goals with 61 saves for a goals-against average of .88 and save percentage of .813.
