The Lions dropped their next three singles matches, but with the doubles victory, Emerson came out victorious in the match, 4-3.
Head Coach Aaron Bergeron noted "Today was a great team win against a school that we fell to last season. I'm especially impressed with the energy the guys showed out there, on court and in support of each other. We played pretty solid out of the gate to secure the crucial doubles point that eventually proved to tip the scales in our favor. Surya Sundararajan and Jeff Pratt played so tough mentally down the stretch and fought off 2 match points to win their first collegiate match together. Our team showed great heart today and I'm excited to start prep for our next one."
The Lions will return to the court next Sunday when they take on Endicott, with a match starting at 1:30pm.
