The Emerson Men's Tennis Team fell to the Division II Skyhawks of Stonehill on Tuesday 7-0. Bass Lin and Robert Comunale fell in the top doubles matchup 6-4 to Trent Newman and Russell White. Max Chalik and Alek Naim fell 6-2 in the second doubles to Christian Duffy and Sameul Miller. Emerson was victorious in the third doubles, wioth Maximo Lawlor and Nicolai Dalmau defeated Juan Riano Rojas and Ben Simmons 7-5. Due to the Division II rules being used in the match, the third doubles did not count for the overall score, causing the Lions to go into the singles matches down 2-0.
Lin and Newman played in first doubles, with Newmac coming out victorious 6-4, 6-0. Lawlor and Duffy playedin the second doubles pairing, with the match going to a third set. Lawlor won the first set 6-1 and Duffy won the second set 6-2. Duffy finished out the match, defeating Lawlor 10-6 in the third set. Comunale fell to White 6-0, 6-2 in the third singles matchup. Miller def. Chalik 6-1, 6-4 in the fourth singles matchup. Vincent Huynh defeated Dalmau 6-1 in both sets of the fifth singles while Naim fell to Rojas 6-1, 6-4 in the sixth pairing.
Emerson gets back in action on Friday when they take on Gordon College at 3:00pm.
