BOSTON - The Lions' strong start to the Volleyball Season was capped off by three players earning weekly GNAC honors. Freshman Marcus Cepeda (Sacramento, Calif.) earned rookie of the week for his great passing. In his first week of NCAA action, Cepeda averaged 5.5 assists per set, helping the Lions to a 2-1 opening week record. Against Dean, he had 16 assists in two sets in a 3-0 sweep and had 14 in both the loss to MIT and the sweep of Southern Vermont on Saturday.
Sophomore Carl D'Aguiar(Tujunga, CA) was namaed defensive player of the week. D'Aguiar averaged 3.22 digs per set over the past week. In the two sweeps against Dean and Souther Vermont, D'Aguiar had 10 and 12 digs respectively.
Junior Win Kittivatcharapong (Bangkok, Thailand) earned Honor Roll laurels from the GNAC. Kittivatcharapong averaged 3.1 Kills per set and total 24.5 points over three matches for the Lions. He had 21 kills with only four errors, adding three service errors and four digs.
