Women's Basketball Pegged as No. 6 Team in NEWMAC

The Emerson Women's Basketball Team has been voted No. 6 in the conference in the Coaches' Preseason poll.  The poll takes into account all eleven teams that participate in the New England Women's And Men's Athletic Conference for Women's basketball. The poll is as follows:

2.   Babson (1)

3.   Smith (3)

4.   Springfield

5.   WPI

6.   Emerson

7.   Wellesley

8.   Coast Guard

9.   Clark

10.  Wheaton 

11.  Mount Holyoke 


Emerson opens their season on Thursday in Non-conference play against Gordon.  They return home against Suffolk on Monday, November 12th before hosting a tournament the following weekend.  The team stays home against Wentworth and Wellesley to close out November and open up conference play.  The team plays five games in December, the first three on the road against WPI, Wellesley, and Lasell.  The lone home game in the final month of the year is against Smith on December 8th.  The team will finish their December schedule against Tufts, and opens up in January with three road games against Simmons, Babson, and MIT.   They return home against Mount Holyoke and Fisher, and finish out the last month of their season against NEWMAC opponents.  The Lions will face Smith, Springfield, Clark, and Mount Holyoke away from home.  They will take on Wheaton, Babson, Coast Guard, Springfield, and WPI at home between January and February to close the season.
