BOSTON - The Emerson women's soccer team continues on with a pair of home NEWMAC tilts this upcoming week and prepare to host Wheaton (Mass.) and Wellesley. The Lions start off the week by hosting Wheaton (Mass.) at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday night and close out the week against Wellesley for a 1:00 p.m. contest.



  • Through two games the previous week, Emerson went an even 1-1 to move its overall record to 3-5-2 and now hold a NEWMAC record of 3-1.

  • A net 17 minutes into the first half by junior Jess Frost (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.) was all the Lions needed to edge out Smith, 1-0, on Tuesday night.

  • Emerson was handed its first NEWMAC loss of the season on Saturday afternoon, 3-0, by WPI in Worcester.



  • Within the last four home contests, the Lions have yet to lose on its home field and hold a record of 2-0-2.

  • Emerson's most recent win on their turf came last Tuesday against Smith.



  • Winners of its last six contests, Wheaton (Mass.) comes into Tuesday's game with a 9-1-1 record and are 3-1 against NEWMAC opponents.

  • Wheaton's most recent win came back on Saturday as the Lyons edged out at home Smith, 2-1.

  • Emerson took the win in last season's meeting against Wheaton with junior Paige Haley's (San Diego, Calif.) overtime net sending the Lions to a 1-0 victory on October 11, 2016.

  • Hannah Lepordo paces the Wheaton offense with eight goals and three assists for 19 points, while Megan Healy and Aymara O'Brien Pappalardo each have notched 12 points on four goals and four assists apiece.

  • In net for Wheaton is both Alexa Barbagallo and Leann Wolf, who together have allowed a combined nine goals for a .80 goals against average and have turned away 58 shots to record an .866 save percentage.



  • Wellesley has put up an overall record of 3-7-2 and are 2-3 versus NEWMAC teams with a game against MIT on Tuesday night before facing Emerson.

  • The Blue are riding a two-game losing streak and most recently dropped a 4-1 decision against Springfield last Saturday.

  • Emerson and Wellesley last met on September 17, 2016, at Wellesley where the Blue came away with the 3-1 win.

  • Carley Phillips leads Wellesley with five goals for 10 points, while Gen Crotty leads the way in assists with three.

  • Olivia Reckley has manned the net for the Blue for 1126+ minutes having allowed 23 goals and halted 56 shots with three shutouts.
