BOSTON - The Emerson women's soccer team enters the final stretch of its 2017 regular season schedule and look to scrape up a pair of NEWMAC wins against Clark and MIT. The Lions start the week off on the road as they travel to Worcester, Mass. to face Clark on Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. On Saturday afternoon, the Lions return home for its last home game and welcome MIT for a NEWMAC tilt at 4:00 p.m.



  • After a pair of setbacks, Emerson's record sits at 3-9-2 with a NEWMAC record of 3-4 entering its final week of games.

  • The Lions started to week off with a tough 3-2 overtime loss at Coast Guard on Tuesday night despite goals from sophomore Veronica Alberts (Half Moon Bay, Calif.) and junior Jess Frost (Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.)

  • The Purple headed to Babson on Saturday for an early matchup and suffered a 3-0 defeat at the hands of the Beavers.


  • Entering Tuesday's game, Clark holds an overall record of 7-6-2 with a NEWMAC record of 2-4-2.

  • Clark is coming off of a 2-0 win over the visiting Coast Guard Bears this past Friday night.

  • In last season's meeting between Clark and Emerson, the Lions came away with the 5-1 win on October 29, 2016, backed by a pair of tallies from Frost.

  • Leading the Cougars offense are Inonge Kaloustian, Eliza Meltzer and Alex Pariseau, who all have tallied four goals apiece with Sarah Berube and Janiah Lambert leading with four assists each.

  • In the net for Clark are Alison Carroll and Julianna Christy, who have allowed a combined 13 goals for a .84 goals against average, turned away 67 shots with a .838 save percentage and have recorded seven shutouts within 1389+ minutes between the pipes.


  • The No. 13 MIT Engineers come to Boston on Saturday with a 16-1 overall record and remain undefeated against NEWMAC opponents at 8-0.

  • The Engineers are coming off a 4-0 triumph over Springfield College to close out its home schedule and finish out the season on the road, starting with WPI on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.

  • Emerson trails MIT, 1-10, in the all-time series versus the Engineers with the Lions falling 4-0 in the last meeting back on October 25, 2016.

  • Olivia Struckman powers the MIT offense with 11 goals and two assists for 24 points, followed by Amy Apostle and Chessa Hoekstra with nine goals apiece.

  • Starting in all 16 games for the Engineers, keeper Lily Mueller has allowed just eight tallies (.58 GAA) with 42 saves (.840 save %) within 1251 minutes between the pipes.
