Women's Tennis Earns Victory Over Salem St. In Final Match Of Fall

The Emerson Women's Tennis team defeated the Salem St. Vikings 6-3 overall on Sunday.  The team started off strong, winning two of three doubles matches to go ahead 2-1 heading into the singles matchups.  Alex Weingarten and Annie Woodbury def. Kristin Klimowicz and Meredith Macdonald 8-3 in the second doubles pairing.  Cassia Burns and Mackenzie Swaney swept their opponent 8-0 to give Emerson the 2-1 lead.

In the singles matches, the Lions found their strides in the later pairings.  Eliana Flores-Barber started off the winning in the third pairing, defeating Caroline Robitalle 6-0, 6-1.  Alex Weingarten won her matchup 6-3, 6-2 over Meredith Macdonald.  Thea Nagle and Mackenzie Swaney both won their matches.  Nagle won 6-3, 6-0 over Klimowicz and Swaney won 7-5, 6-0 over Hannah Dahrouge to secure the victory for the Lions.
