Andy Severance served three seasons as a volunteer assistant coach with the men's and women's tennis team at Merrimack College between 2013 and 2016. In that time both men’s and women’s teams were Northeast-10 regular season and tournament champions. He served as assistant tennis coach for Franklin Pierce men’s tennis between for two seasons 2016 and 2018. In that time the team went from ninth to fourth in the standings and made their first playoff appearance for 12 years.
A 2006 Merrimack alum and former member of the men's tennis team, Severance joined the Warriors as a sophomore in 2003 during former head coach Chris Stevens' first season with the program. Severance started for the team in both singles and doubles throughout his three campaigns with the Navy and Gold.
Severance's playing career began at Sumner Memorial High School in East Sullivan, Maine, where he was named conference MVP and team MVP during his senior year.
After earning his Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Merrimack in 2006, Severance earned his Master's in Business Administration at Boston College. He currently works at HP Hood LLC as a Senior Treasury Analyst.
