The Lead: Emerson's Grace Tepper (Kensington, Md.) led all Lions with 11 kills but Emerson fell to the MIT Engineers 3-0 on Tuesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The first set went back and forth between the Lions and Engineers, totaling 15 ties and four lead changes. Emerson and MIT were knotted at 21 each before two straight points from MIT gave the Engineers a 23-21 lead. One of Tepper's kills and an attack error knotted the score at 23. The teams went back and forth but MIT was able to pull out the win in the first set 28-26.
- In the second set the Lions jumped out to an early 10-3 lead behind and 8-0 run headlined by three aces from Caroline Bond (Macungie, Penn.). MIT went on a run of their own to take a three point lead at 17-14, and carried their lead to 23-19. The Lions had two straight kills to cut the lead to 23-21, but MIT was able to hold of Emerson 25-21.
- Emerson jumped out to an early lead at 8-6 before a 12-4 run by the Engineers gave MIT an 18-12 lead. The Lions stayed in the match, eventually tying the score at 22. MIT earned two straight kills before closing out the set at 25-22, taking the match 3-0.
- The Lions close out the regular season on Saturday when they welcome the Springfield Pride to Brown & Plofker Gym as park of Emerson's homecoming celebration with a match starting at 1:00pm.
