Mens & Women’s Cross Country Perform Well At Runnin’ Monks Invitational

The Emerson Men's And Women's Cross Country Teams took part in the Runnin' Monks Invitational on Saturday, hosted by St. Joe's (Me.). The Men's Team placed fifth in their 8K race and the Women's Team placed fourth in their 5K race.

As a team, the women finished with a 2:19:24 time and averaged 27:52.  They had a score of 126.  The Lions' top finisher was Taylor Ranney who ran a 26:00.5 and finished 12th overall. Emily Hammond was close being at 26:42 and placed 15th.  Madison Lynch ran well, with the junior finishing at 27:13.5 and a 22nd placing.  Paige Thimmesch finished 34th and Jenny Ferm came in 43rd, rounding out the athletes who placed for the Lions.  Thimmesch had a 28:41.7 time while Ferm finished at 30:46.0.  Alexia Brown, Emma McGoldrick and Rebcca Palladino closed out the race at 85th, 86th, and 89th overall.  Brown finished 8 second in front of McGoldrick at 34:14.7 with McGoldrick finishing at 34:22.4.  Palladino finished at 36:39.8.

The Men as a team ran a 2:37.04 with a 31:24 average.  The Lions' highest finisher was Oliver Glass who placed 18th with a 29.17.6 time.  Joey MacNeil and Kevin Serrano were close behind Glass, with the two juniors placing 25th and 26th respectively.  MacNeil finished at 30:40.1 while Serrano finished at 30:46.0. Phillipe Legagneur was close behind the pair of his junior classmates with a 33rd place finish.  He came in at 31:39.6.  Anthony LaBruto and Devin McAllister closed out the placers for the Lions, with LaBruto coming in at 44th and McAlister coming in at 48th.  LaBruto finished with a 34:41.0 time and McAlister came in at 36:04.8.
